Welcome to Nancy's Story

Thank you for visiting Nancy's Story.

I tell my story here because I hope that by sharing it other women will gain strength from hearing it.

Domestic Violence goes by many names; domestic abuse, intimate partner violence, call it what you want. But one thing is sure -

women survivors of domestic violence must have the support of other women.

This site provides opportunities for you to Tell Us Your Story too. If you'd like to Write A Letter To Nancy, I'd love to hear from you. Or, if you'd like to engage in a discussion you can comment on Nancy's Blog.

Write as often and as much as you like. I find that as I write about one thing it triggers memories of other things that are more deeply suppressed.

I find that the more I write - the more I get out - the more I am able to put the heaviness of my old life behind me. People use the word "catharsis". I can tell you that for me, the more I write the "lighter" I feel.

So, write away ladies. I hope you find the experience as liberating as I do and I know that you'll be helping other women by sharing your stories with them.

This is…

Nancy's Story

a
Victory Over Violence

My name is Nancy. I am an author, speaker and advocate against domestic violence.

I am also a survivor of domestic violence and the author of a program on financial self-sufficiency for women mired in their own violent relationships. The program is called The Business Of Me.

I know that being financially literate and having personal money management skills makes you confident and self-sufficient.

This is my story.

“My hope is that women who have endured their own struggles in some way find something from my story and realize that they too can create a life that they choose - a life filled with happiness and financial self-sufficiency.”

About Victory Over Violence

Victory Over Violence, Nancy’s Story and The Business of Me is the inspiring story of one woman’s struggle to live a financially independent life free from Domestic Violence, and her quest to help other women achieve independence in their lives too.

From her gut wrenching description of the violence that was inflicted upon her to her own inspiring Victory Over Violence Nancy’s Story is filled with inspiration for any woman who struggles with her own fears.

Nancy tells the story of her early years and how she came to and left a twenty-year marriage in which she endured physical, emotional, sexual and financial abuse.

Nancy inspires us with her telling of how she learned to thrive and live an independent life - a life free from the fear and violence that plagued her for so many years.

When Nancy decided that it was time to “give back” she created The Business of Me, a landmark program that teaches women how to overcome fear of money and managing it and then goes on to support them as they seek independence from domestic abuse.

This is Victory Over Violence, Nancy’s Story and The Business of Me.
