In her book “Victory Over Violence,” Nancy shares her personal story of a woman with two lives – a life of competence at work, and a life of terror at home. She also shares how she learned to be truly free…in hopes that by sharing her story, others will learn that they can become free as well. Nancy also provides insights from her personal perspective into some of the most difficult questions often asked about victims of domestic violence. This story is precious, heartbreaking, and ultimately hopeful.

VICTORY OVER VIOLENCE is an important contribution to the struggle against domestic violence. Nancy Salamone has written a forthright account of her double life as a skilled high-level professional woman in business and an abused and assaulted wife at home. This compelling history of survival, escape, and freedom challenges the stereotype that women are victimized because they lack the education and employment skills to be independent of their violent spouses. Nancy Salamone shows that any woman can suffer from domestic violence and there is hope for escape and a good life with the support of family, friends, and co-workers who respond when they see signs of injury and distress in a woman close to them.

About The Business of Me
I have had the privilege of presenting The Business of Me to countless women. During the years, I have seen women who were afraid to speak up when they entered the program become animated as the session’s progress. I have seen women who did not care about themselves begin to take care of themselves. I have seen women who were afraid become empowered. I have seen women who felt as if they were stupid realize they are intelligent, productive members of society. I have seen women create lasting friendships. I have seen women thrive in ways that are wonderful!
From The Business of Me
Once participants have learned to identify their fears about money they are taught specific real-world money management techniques in an innovative and groundbreaking way that has them thinking in depth about, and actively managing, their financial future.
Participants are taught to create a budget and the importance of maintaining that budget to help them achieve success in life. The comprehensive program addresses debt and how to handle it, insurance, documentation, savings, charitable giving, how to talk to children about money. Participants complete the six sessions of the program with extensive real-world personal financial management skills.
Participants are supported with extensive online tools and through a unique feature of The Business Of Me, our "Board of Directors" support group that enables the participants to support one another over time.
The Business Of Me is a landmark program that teaches women survivors of domestic violence to overcome their fear of money while teaching them real-world, practical and easy to use financial management skills to use in their daily lives.
Participants create visions for the new lives that they wish to have and are taught how to use simple financial and analytical methods to aid them in constantly looking forward to the future that they want to create for themselves.
The initial part of the program covers six weeks with one two-hour session held each week. This is followed by three “Board of Directors” meetings beginning one month after the sixth session.
A unique feature of The Business Of Me is the "Board of Directors" support group that is formed. Once the women have finished the program they create a support group that continues the group’s work into the future through monthly meetings and through a social networking group that is created for them on the Internet.
The Business Of Me s the new life that participants envision for themselves, a vision that takes form during the six weeks of the program and is supported through extensive online tools and their monthly "Board of Directors" meetings.
The Business Of Me was first taught by Nancy Salamone who was inspired to write the program based upon her own experience.
Nancy began The Business Of Me by personally going into shelters to moderate the program. The program has been totally updated and reformatted so that caseworkers can present the program in shelters nationwide.
By writing the program in its new format its reach can now far exceed what it was and can now be offered to women in all over the country. The Business Of Me is visionary in its approach and is aimed at women of any socio-economic or ethnic background.
