I was speaking to a man yesterday who has been on a personal spiritual journey for years. He talked about how far he has come and how much he has changed and how his life has improved. He told me about how he is now on a quest to understand the “Law of Attraction”.
I am also on a personal quest to understand and put into practice the principals of the “Law of Attraction”. The first thing I found out about the “Law of Attraction” is that if I am unhappy about my current situation - guess what - I get more of that same crappy stuff. In fact dwelling on what I perceive I don’t have paralyzes me from doing what I need to move the vision of my life forward.
So some people might say “Ok Nancy just change the tune in your head”. Well as a person who has suffered from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome) there are times when the noise in my head just keeps banging and banging until all I get is a huge headache.
On an intellectual level, I get the “Law of Attraction". It’s the “changing the tune” in my head which sometimes come crashing down on me that’s the hard part. It’s those times that I withdraw and stay silent because my brain is just overloaded with fear – and as my friend Stan Hustad says “Fear kills everything”.
I have now learned that when those times come to keep repeating the positive affirmation “I AM prosperous” over and over for what seems like a thousand times until the banging in my head subsides and finally leaves and I can then move on.
As the Reverend Michael Beckwith says “Creation is always happening. Every time an individual has a thought, or a prolonged chronic way of thinking, they’re in the creation process. Something is going to manifest out of those thoughts.”
For all of you who suffer with negative thoughts here's a suggestion. Picture yourself at a blackboard erasing the negative thought and replacing it with the opposite positive affirmation and let the good that you are deserving come into your life…I'm going to do this every time I have such feelings.
