Many of you know that my partner and I found a kitten about 3 months ago and we are enjoying having him in our lives. We have named the kitten Poncho.

Poncho is an active kitten running, jumping, fetching (yes, fetching!) and biting. He does not bite out of meanness; he bites as part of his play. Since my partner takes blood thinners and Poncho does break his skin he is bleeding a lot. So we decided that Poncho needed a buddy. We went to an animal shelter in our neighborhood and found an adorable little kitten about 2 months younger than Poncho – that turned out to be a mistake. When Poncho met her he completely overwhelmed her and frightened her so much we had no choice but to return the sweet little kitty to the shelter.

We then decided to adopt an older cat, a cat that could “stand up” to Poncho and we found a beautiful year old cat that is sweet but stands her ground against Poncho. And I’m happy to say both cats have adjusted to each other and love playing with each other. Yeah!

We decided to name our new cat Lefty. Why Lefty? Well my partner and I are both fans of Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard who teamed up to do an album called “Poncho and Lefty”.
