I have never owned a pet but now it seems my neighbor’s cat has decided he likes my house more than my neighbor’s house so he has, in his mind, moved in. And yes we feed it and let it roam where it wants to go. We pet it and give it love – that is, when the cat wants to be loved.

As I observe the cat whose name is Pacifico I am constantly amazed at how it just does what it wants to do when it wants to do it.  Pacifico does not care about your feelings - Pacifico is all about Pacifico's wants and needs and he relaxes comfortably in the knowledge that we still take care of him no matter what mood he is in. How cool is that - real unconditional love!

I have often wished that I could do just what I wanted to do - everyone else be damned. But I do care about others feelings and needs, sometimes, I feel, to my own determent. So what I've learned, with Pacifico's help, is that the decisions that I make, when made properly, are the best for all concerned and that I'm part of that "all".

Thank you Pacifico!
